This archive preserves the complete history of Entropia Universe Version Updates, documenting the technical evolution of the platform and the development of its virtual worlds. Each update represents a snapshot in the ongoing transformation of the universe, from early system foundations and gameplay mechanics to major graphical upgrades, planetary expansions, and platform milestones.

The release notes collected here provide insight into how the real-cash economy virtual universe has evolved over time — including engine transitions, interface redesigns, new systems, balance adjustments, and community-driven improvements. Together they form a chronological technical record of the changes that shaped Entropia Universe from its early years to the modern era.

Some Version Update release notes are currently missing or temporarily unavailable due to the migration from PlanetCalypsoForum to the new Entropia Forum. PlanetCalypsoForum historically served as a primary archival source for Entropia Universe VU documentation, and some older or recent VU posts may not have migrated cleanly or may still be unavailable while the forum transition settles.

RESETTLEMENT UPDATE

After a slight delay due to the heavy traffic to Crystal Palace, the auctioneers have arrived and auction service at Crystal Palace can resume. In addition, Dome 4 is now completed and opened to the public.

The tech crew assigned to service the Oyster Island teleporter reports that it is now back online and that it indeed was not offline because of Wastelander sabotage. There is no cause for alarm.

RESETTLEMENT UPDATE

Imperial Zoological Scouts have noticed further evolution of the fauna of Calypso: several of the creatures have developed new noises. Scientists believe that this may be from selective pressure from colonist hunting activities. As creatures producing ordinary noises attracted more attention from hunters, individuals producing dissimilar noises gained evolutionary advantage, and now dominate the population.

The Billgren Deer mall has been rebuilt but is not yet open to the public. A formal re-opening ceremony will be held in the near future; time and date for this will be announced.

Finally, Crystal Palace Space Station is back. Having served as a refugee camp for the thousands of colonists evacuated in the World-Fire, Crystal Palace have been extensively refurbished, and almost three months on the day after the Resettlement began, the space station is again open to the public! Please note that auctioneers have not yet arrived to Crystal Palace, so the auction service is not available there.

Transport to and from the space station will be serviced by the temporary interplanetary teleporter service. A one way ticket is 25 PED. NOTE: this is a temporary solution.

There is an unknown fault in the Oyster Island teleporter, making it impossible to teleport there. Technicians are on route to fix the problem. The problem is not caused by sabotage from Wastelanders. Please remain calm.

NEW DISTRIBUTION


  • New client download system allowing for download using either the regular download from server or using Bittorrent DNA. EULA for Bittorrent DNA is available here: http://www.bittorrent.com/legal/bittorrent-dna-eula
  • Major performance and structure upgrades to prepare EU for new planets
  • Content is no longer distributed as a lot of small files, but as a small number of .pak files
  • The majority of the content files are now encrypted to increase security; unfortunately, this upgrade requires a re-download of the affected content
  • Total disk file size considerably reduced, allowing future patches to download faster

  • Missing some textures on the towers and some objects at Crystal Palace
  • Logging out at Crystal Palace may place the avatar on top of the roof when logging back in
  • Some objects misaligned to the terrain
A patch for VU10.3 is being finalized, which will address the Known Issues, above. The patch will be released in a few days time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

RESETTLEMENT UPDATE

A new scientific breakthrough has been made: a safe, practical tool for extracting the life essence known as “Vibrant Sweat”. By emitting a low-energy field for harvesting the essence, the tool focuses vibrant sweat and encodes it into a suspension fluid. Vibrant Sweat can then be refined together with Force Nexus to produce Mind Essence.

To operate the VSE Mk 1, move within 30 meters from the target, aim carefully and pull the trigger. Keep the tool aimed at the target until the sample is collected.

Note that the VSE works only on animals and not on mutants, robots or other colonists.

NEW AND RETURNED FUNCTIONALITY

* Teaming is back! Again you can go hunting with your friends and share both the fun and the loot with them.
* Sweating is back! And this time, it’s point and click – no more concentration, just pick up your new handy tool VSE Mk 1, aim it and start sweating! This tool is a gift to all players, old and new, for gathering sweat. The VSE Mk 1 is free for everyone and does not decay.
* Mouse-only navigation is back! Want to go there? Just double-click there. You can also press and hold both left and right mouse-button to move forward. And no, we have not turned off the old FPS style – aim and shoot is still there. If you lost it, it’s under Options-Controls-Enable Aim Mode.
* Auto navigation is back! This includes following another avatar, run to creature and shoot when within range, and run to creature and loot when in range.
* Mouse buttons can be mapped! Actions can now be assigned to mouse buttons 3-8, using the Keyboard Map GUI. The mouse button map is to the right just below the Keyboard Map GUI. You can’t map mouse buttons 1 and 2 (left and right mouse buttons); they are locked.
* Live audio streaming is back on Club Neverdie! Bop till you drop!
