Entropia Universe Version Updates

This archive preserves the complete history of Entropia Universe Version Updates, documenting the technical evolution of the platform and the development of its virtual worlds. Each update represents a snapshot in the ongoing transformation of the universe, from early system foundations and gameplay mechanics to major graphical upgrades, planetary expansions, and platform milestones.

The release notes collected here provide insight into how the real-cash economy virtual universe has evolved over time — including engine transitions, interface redesigns, new systems, balance adjustments, and community-driven improvements. Together they form a chronological technical record of the changes that shaped Entropia Universe from its early years to the modern era.

Use the search function to explore specific Version Updates, locate historical features, or trace how particular systems and mechanics have developed across different eras of the universe.

Some Version Update release notes are currently missing or temporarily unavailable due to the migration from PlanetCalypsoForum to the new Entropia Forum. PlanetCalypsoForum historically served as a primary archival source for Entropia Universe VU documentation, and some older or recent VU posts may not have migrated cleanly or may still be unavailable while the forum transition settles.

[h=2]Make Up is back![/h] The make up system is now fully reimplemented, with some nifty new features to boot!
To apply make up to a Make Up Mask you need the mask itself and make up like e.g. Face Paint, Lipstick and Eye shadow (all referred to as brushes). You can however practice using brushes without the mask.
Starting a make up session You can start a make up session on yourself from the context menu of any make up-related item in the inventory or use the "Start Make Up" action.
To make sure your make up mask will look good on another avatar, you can request a make up session by right-clicking him/her and selecting "Start Make Up"!from the context menu or aiming at him/her and use the "Start Make Up" action.
To end a session, close the Make Up panel or use the "Abort Make Up Session" action.

Interface The Make Up panel is shown when a session is started and has controls for brush size and Undo/Redo. Actions such as Increase/Decrease Brush Size are mapped under Action Set 6 as default (if you don't want to reset your action settings, you need to map them manually). The camera will automatically zoom in on the target avatar's face when a session is started.

Using Brushes During a make up session, brushes can now be selected by double-clicking on the brush item in the Inventory.
You can also drag brushes to the Keyboard Map/Desktop like a normal tool or garment for quicker access.
Simply press the left mouse button to apply the selected make up where desired.

Undo/Redo Not happy with those last brushstrokes? Use the buttons in the Make Up panel or Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y to undo/redo your work.

Misc The cost for applying make up to a Make Up Mask is, as before, based on the materials used and the transfer (upload) cost of the finished texture.
Once make up is applied to a mask, it cannot be removed.
Finished Make Up Masks can be traded via auction or private trade.!
So go ahead, gather your masks and brushes and get creative!

NEW FEATURES

It is now possible for a single creature to have many different attacks to choose between when fighting a colonist. This includes area of effect attacks as well as attacks based on a percentage of the victims current HP. This will present an exiting new challenge for experienced colonists. For the time being this feature has only been enabled on the Rextelum.

It is now possible for missions to consume actual items, this makes it possible to have mission characters that can trade with player avatars.

Planet Calypso will start handing out "Missions Tokens" as rewards for the completion of most of the missions added from now on. The mission tokens are trade-able and can be used to purchase various items from mission NPCs. The items that can be bought with the tokens has no fixed token price. The number of tokens needed to buy an item can fluctuate with supply and demand.

The Mentor system is now back with many improvements.!With the Mentor system experienced participants can teach newcomers about Entropia Universe.

  • A disciple will have the opportunity to rate the mentor when graduating.
  • Both mentor and disciple get gifts if the disciple graduates successfully.
  • Disciples and mentors from the old system will automatically be converted to the new implementation.
Space

Space has been rescaled. Vehicle speed and fuel consumption has been adjusted to better fit the new conditions.

Warp Speed

To improve possibilities of traveling over the increased distances, we invented a warp drive device, that you can add to the vessels engineering interface. The warp drive device will deteriorate with every use independently of distance traveled.

!
Activate and use warp speed:

  1. Activate warp drive from pilot seat.
  2. Select any position in space you want to travel to.
  3. The ship prepares for warp speed for 30 seconds. If being attacked, or attacking, during this period, the warp speed will abort.
  4. The ship enters warp speed.
When traveling in warp speed the journey will go through a set of warp speed route points to the desired destination.

Warp Mines

In order to stop vessels traveling in warp speed warp mines can be dropped.

Warp mines can be dropped from smaller vessels and will be active for a limited amount of time only.
!
The success rate of bringing a ship out of warp speed depends on:
  • Placement of the Warp Mine.
  • The level of the Warp Mine.
  • Warp drive level of the target vessel.
  • Captain skills on target vessel.

Fixed issues in space

  • Space has been updated with better graphics and more space mobs.
  • When dodging shots in space, the pilot will gain skills in captain profession.
  • Space station safe zones now have equal distances to planet teleportation zones.
  • All motherships and privateers will be moved to the closest space station.
  • Added target markers for creatures in space.
  • Home visualization in the Map UI is updated more often for motherships. This location can be viewed by mothership guests and mothership deed managers no matter where they are.
  • As a passenger in a mothership, privateer or if you are on a space station, you can now see where the ship (or space station) is located in space in the Map UI. Remember to select Space in the Map UI drop-down list.
  • When destroying a small vessel, the avatar's hit points are reduced to 10.
  • As a holder of a deed for privateer/mothership you are now allowed to enter the ship without claiming it.
  • Fixed issues with crosshair in mothership's gunner seat.
Ammo Types Conversion

Light, Medium and Heavy Weapon Cells have been merged into a single type. The same goes for BLP Packs. All existing stacks have been converted.

General improvements and fixed issues

  • Team loot rules now work as intended for space PVP battles.
  • Fixed problem with history graph showing the wrong date.
  • You now only get credited for creatures killed by you in wave spawn events.
  • You can no longer add and drag avatar status bars to Desktop when in PvP areas.
