Entropia Universe Version Updates

This archive preserves the complete history of Entropia Universe Version Updates, documenting the technical evolution of the platform and the development of its virtual worlds. Each update represents a snapshot in the ongoing transformation of the universe, from early system foundations and gameplay mechanics to major graphical upgrades, planetary expansions, and platform milestones.

The release notes collected here provide insight into how the real-cash economy virtual universe has evolved over time — including engine transitions, interface redesigns, new systems, balance adjustments, and community-driven improvements. Together they form a chronological technical record of the changes that shaped Entropia Universe from its early years to the modern era.

Use the search function to explore specific Version Updates, locate historical features, or trace how particular systems and mechanics have developed across different eras of the universe.

Some recent Version Update release notes are temporarily unavailable due to the ongoing PlanetCalypsoForum outage, which historically served as a primary archival source for Entropia Universe VU documentation.

New Features

Construction Interface Rework

  • The Construction Interface has been completely reworked with a modern interface, offering improved visuals and a heap of new functionality to make planning and crafting more available and engaging for both advanced and new players.

Changes
  • Blueprints with producers (blueprints that produce required components for a blueprint) now display as an expandable dependency tree via the Overview/Dynamic buttons in the Session tab
  • Dynamic Mode: Shows real-time requirements needed to produce the item for your initially selected blueprint
  • While in Dynamic Mode, if your current craft satisfies the base blueprint's needs but a different blueprint is selected, that blueprint remains pinned until you select a different blueprint
  • Overview Mode: Displays all producers as a static expandable tree, expanded one level at a time
  • Required Tab: This list feature allows you to plan and purchase required ingredients based on your current configuration directly from the Construction Interface
  • All ingredients/icons/renders displayed in the interface should be left clickable for details, and right clickable for actions
  • Craft any owned blueprint directly from within the dependency tree, provided you have the required ingredients
  • Realtime Updates: The producer tree will update in realtime reflecting your latest construction attempts
  • Switching Blueprints: Select specific blueprint instances from within the producer tree without switching tabs (the default selection will be unlimited/highest attempts limited)
  • Crafting animation shows which ingredient types are being used visually for a craft
  • Session logs are now tracked per-blueprint type within a single crafting session, displaying all blueprints attempts as an expandable list
  • Copy raw session logs to clipboard
  • Copy CSV-formatted session logs to clipboard
  • Logs will still be cleared upon closing the interface
  • Construction Interface is now fully resizable
  • Moving to the browse tab auto refreshes the construction interface
  • Added a refresh button to update any stale information instead of needing to re-open the construction window
  • Color coded minimap added to the dependency tree to more easily overview and navigate large producer trees
  • Collapsing and expanding producer tree views is possible by right clicking the producer tree background

Fixes

Construction Interface
  • Rendering: Completely overhauled rendering system should now resolve any black window issues. If problems persist, update your graphics drivers as some older versions can be blacklisted by Chromium.
  • Performance: All new chromium interfaces now updates at 60 FPS and is fully synchronized with the game clients framerate
  • Caching: Rewritten chromium cache system now updates dynamically, preventing any chance of stale data between game sessions

Known Issues
  • The input fields in the Construction interface have a known issue with using shift for typing upper or lowercase letters, this will be patched
  • Progress window can sometimes get stuck behind the Chat if overlapping, requiring to first move the chat in order to move the progress window, we are working on a patch for this

ARIS

New Features

  • Thanks to your efforts in gathering Hyperium for Nora Gretz, her experiments have led to a major breakthrough. The compound she developed can be dispersed into the ocean, neutralizing its corrosive effects on boats and ships in the surrounding area. While vessels are now safe, the substance remains highly dangerous to humans, though.

Changes
  • Added feedback when the door opens after killing the Cryomusoids in the Cryo Lab instance

Fixes
  • MindArk fixed a code issue that was causing the Spina-specific damage buff received when killing the bosses in the crashed Spina ships to become way too powerful. The instances are now active again, we apologize for the delay!
  • Fixed an issue where the set buffs from the Hyperion armor were not displaying the decimals correctly, resulting in 0% being shown for the buffs with a strength of 0.5%, for example. This was purely visual.
  • The Necroid Challenge is now correctly contributing to the Attribute meta challenge
  • Fixed a lot of issues related to vehicle spawning and driving

Known Issues
  • There are still issues with disappearing buttons for the doors in various instances. This seems to be a platform issue much like the destructibles we used previously in other instances. We are looking into workarounds.

MindArk and the Planet Partners strive to ensure a smooth and problem-free Version Update. Nevertheless, even after extensive testing some issues may arise after release. Such issues are often addressed via mini-patches directly after a release and in subsequent patches.
