Like when I wrote the story about the March on Troy. My first Hall of Fame hit came when least expected and during a time with no vehicles. Back in the day, the prime sweat spot was Nea's Place. We had to run players from the New Oxford teleport to Nea's teleport. That run used to take a couple of hours. During that run, we would always answer any questions new players had. One fine day, a society mate and I took a new player for the long trek to Nea's Place. These runs were always fun, as we would let the new players kill some of the low-end creatures to give them experience. The particular day we ran a new player named Deverat to Nea's, and along the way, he asked about mining. After Sweety explained how mining worked, he asked if I could show him. So, Like any good mentor. I gave him some probes and enmatter tool to mine. I then pulled out my mining tool to show him. I had him drop a probe for enmatter while I dropped a probe for Ores. he got a size III Crude Oil; however, my character puffed out yellow smoke and chimed with sound of a Hall Of Fame! Much to my astonishment, I had hit a size Enormous XXII one level below a mining tower. To extract a XXII caldorite hall of fame with a tt extractor took a long time. I had Sweety finish the teleport run while I extracted the HoF. I broke 2 TT extractors and had a society mate teleport me a third. 6 hours later I was finally able to meet up with Deverat at Nea's and continue mentoring him, this time with a shiny new armor for him thanks to my hof.
