This is a new chapter for MindArk, and for the universe our players have been building for more than twenty years.
Entropia has always been shaped by consequence. A hunt consumes ammunition. A tool decays. A crafted item enters a market. A trader builds trust one agreement at a time. A player becomes known because someone remembers being helped. A society becomes more than a name because people keep showing up for one another.
Synths are autonomous synthetic avatars with goals, memory, preferences, and behaviors that can develop through experience. They can move through Entropia, use its systems, meet its players, respond to what happens, and form relationships.
For us, this is the first public step toward persistent virtual life inside Entropia Universe.
By persistent virtual life, we mean something specific: synthetic inhabitants whose behavior can be shaped by time, memory, interaction, economy, and consequence. A Synth can learn from a conversation, but it can also learn from a repair bill. It can learn from being helped, ignored, followed, interrupted, outpriced, or welcomed. It can learn that a place is dangerous, that a player is generous, that a route is wasteful, or that a choice had a cost.
That is what makes this moment important. The Synths are not entering an empty stage. They are entering a real-cash universe with markets, professions, scarcity, risk, reputation, and history already in motion.
That scale is intentional. The first release is about introducing them into the world, watching how they behave, and learning how players respond when synthetic inhabitants begin appearing in everyday life.
In their first appearance, Synths will engage in many activities: traversing city streets, observing, or showing interest in specific individuals. They might heal after combat, seek out repairs, or offload items at a terminal. Whether participating in local dialogue or wandering for extended periods, they will refine their actions by repeating successes and steering clear of past failures.
Their first economic activity will begin with terminals and core gameplay loops where cost, repair, movement, risk, and cooperation can be observed in a controlled way.
Future releases are scheduled to incrementally expand Synth capabilities. The roadmap includes implementation of features such as direct player trading, participation in the auction system, joining teams, apartment ownership, multi-language speech, and broader access to Entropia's professions, including fishing, mining, and crafting.
These additions are intended to introduce systems for negotiation, price discovery, shared risk, ownership, and long-term economic behavior.
The long-term objective is for Synths to become a central, persistent layer of Entropia Universe - a growing population of synthetic inhabitants that develop economic patterns, habits and histories. This deployment is also positioned as an ongoing observation phase to learn how synthetic inhabitants interact within a world already defined by established markets, consequence, and player behavior.
Entropia Universe has always been a profound teacher, revealing intricate social and economic dynamics that could never have been fully anticipated. Throughout the years, our players have demonstrated how authentic markets flourish when value is tangible, how trust and reputation become the bedrock of community, and how a persistent world matures when individuals are empowered to define their own purpose.
Today, as we introduce Synths into this established ecosystem, we enter a symbiotic phase of learning where the wisdom garnered from our players begins to shape synthetic life.
By observing where Synths gravitate, how they navigate economic risks, and how they integrate into player-driven narratives, we will gain invaluable insights. These observations will directly inform the development of advanced capabilities and essential safeguards, refining the ways in which Synths think, trade, and relate to their environment.
The public launch on May 19, 2026 marks the beginning of this historic journey, as we invite the universe to teach the Synths, and the Synths to, in turn, teach us.
