A concerning update on the Umbranoid situation was issued by the Calypso Defense Force (CDF) earlier today, as reports indicate that a third faction of these enigmatic beings has entered Calypso.
Very little information is publicly available about this faction thus far, except that they appear to be more advanced than the two previously known factions and capable of using Mindforce technology.
In addition to this, a neutral settlement has been founded near Nymphtown by members of all currently known Umbranoid factions. While CDF hardliners have expressed deep concern about the situation and wish to deal with this burgeoning colony through military means, the Colonial Administration has instead designated it a protected area and sent a team of representatives in the hopes of being able to establish official treaties and boundaries.
Colonists who visit the area are also reminded to conduct themselves appropriately as fellow representatives of humanity on Calypso, and to exercise caution given that Umbranoid society tends to be more violent than our own.
